Checklist: Create your uniform profile
The uniform is a visible part of your brand.
It tells the guest who you are – and gives the employee pride and security.
With this checklist you get an overview of the most important steps in defining and developing a strong uniform profile for a hotel,
restaurant, café, reception and service.
1. What should the uniform signal?
Start with the purpose. What should your uniform express?
- What first impression do you want to give your guests?
- What values should the uniform radiate (e.g. luxury, relaxedness, creativity)?
- Should it be classic, modern, Nordic, bohemian, international?
2. Who wears the uniform?
- Which departments should be uniformed (e.g. reception, waiter, bartender, housekeeping)?
- Should everyone have the same style – or coordinated variations?
3. Functionality and comfort
- Should there be stretch, breathability, pockets or adjustability?
- Is freedom of movement important – or first and foremost presentation?
4. Visual identity and color choice
- Which colors match your brand?
- Is there a consistent color theme – e.g. navy, gray, black, burgundy, beige?
- Do you need logo embroidery, name tags, accessories?
5. Maintenance and operation
- How should the clothes be washed? Industrially, in-house or at home?
- Should it be non-iron or durable for high loads?
6. Budget and quantities
- How many employees will need uniforms?
- Do you want a comprehensive solution with multiple styles and functions?
7. Implementation and onboarding
- When will the uniform be put into use?
- Should instructions, a size guide or a presentation kit for new employees be included?
